Debra Brennan Tagg is a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ and president of BFS Advisory Group, a Dallas-based wealth management firm that empowers clients to align their financial decisions with their values. As the creator of the DBT360 Financial Plan, Debra developed a proprietary planning process that helps individuals and families prioritize goals, leverage resources, and address risks—ultimately enabling them to live the life they truly want. Her approach combines practical financial guidance with a deep understanding of each client’s personal vision, empowering them to make more intentional and confident financial decisions.
With more than two decades of experience, Debra advises both individual and institutional clients, focusing on the unique needs of executive families, high-net-worth individuals, entrepreneurs, and women. She and her team build tailored financial strategies that integrate investment management, tax planning, estate planning, and philanthropic giving.
Debra is widely recognized as an industry thought leader and educator. In addition, she is an active member of the Financial Planning Association and the Financial Services Institute.
A sought-after speaker, Debra has co-hosted both a financial radio show, Dollars and Sense, and a television program, Smart Money Live with the Brennans, helping make financial planning more accessible to the broader public. In 2020, she was named an InvestmentNews Woman to Watch, a national recognition of her leadership and impact in the financial planning field.
Beyond her professional accomplishments, Debra is a passionate community advocate dedicated to fostering lasting change in Dallas. She currently serves on the Board of Directors for both Children’s Health and the Communities Foundation of Texas (CFT). She currently chairs the CFT Housing Strategy Committee. Her previous board work includes the Dallas Children’s Advocacy Center and the United Way of Metropolitan Dallas, where she was honored as the 2015 Innovator of the Year.
Debra’s influence has been recognized locally as well—she is listed among D CEO’s Dallas 500, a roster of the most powerful business leaders in North Texas. In 2019, she was named D CEO’s Corporate Leader of the Year for her contributions to nonprofit and corporate citizenship.
A proud resident of Dallas, Debra lives with her husband and two children. Outside of work, she enjoys yoga, travel, writing, photography, and music—creative outlets that complement her thoughtful, values-based approach to life and work.
