Money = Power = Choice = Opportunity
It always has, and it always will.
BFS Advisory Group partnered with Tootsies and again this year to gather clients, friends, colleagues, and team members for “Fashion and Finance.” The annual event started as a lark the year I turned 50. I celebrated for the whole year with new adventures – some big, some small – and had various groups of friends join me along the way. I enjoyed it so much that I decided to gather some women to talk about two things that can give us confidence: looking good and being financially successful.

This year we were treated to a style show about fall’s new trends and an interview with Tootsies store manager, Cindy Pierce, as well as a Tootsies featured designer, Hilton Hollis. Pierce led us through top lewks including denim on denim, wide-legged pants, a plethora of animal prints, and detailed fabrics and prints. Hollis travels around the world to find his fabrics, and walked us through how a fabric can inspire an outfit in his line, especially when the craftsmanship is outstanding. We also discovered that we have something significant in common: we all listen to our clients for their feedback and design our work around what they need and what they want – which is very rewarding when you deliver it.

So, yes, “Fashion and Finance” has grown into an annual event to learn about fall’s big trends, but we also talked about my very strong opinion that women need to get more comfortable and more open talking about money. With $30T expected to be in the hands of women by 2030 (just six short years away), there is no time to delay for women to own their financial future and to gain even more confidence about the decisions they are making. We focus on this type of confidence for all of our clients, no matter the gender. As more women move into leadership roles, ascend to the top paid ranks of their industry, or even learn how to capitalize on NIL opportunities in college, it’s time to mentor each other about how to make smart, intentional money decisions. We want BFS Advisory Group to be known for continuing to cultivate those opportunities.
And last but not least – Fashion and Finance happened to fall on the day that we transitioned to our new back office platform partner, NewEdge Advisors. We are thrilled about this opportunity, as it will provide the scaffolding we need to able to serve more clients at a superior level of service, offering, and overall experience. If you know someone looking for a wealth management firm that can help them build their confidence in their financial decisions, we welcome the introduction at hello@bfsadvisorygorup.com.
