Congratulations to teammate Joseph Meylor, who became a CERTIFIED FINANCIAL PLANNER™ Professional in December. Joe began his career by spending two years at a large investment wirehouse, but soon realized that was not the right fit for him. In search of a more personal relationship with clients, Joe made the commitment to become a CFP® professional and to join a boutique firm. When Joe joined our firm in November, 2018, his goal of becoming a CFP® professional by the end of 2019 was an auspicious one. His achievement is commendable.
The mission of the Certified Financial Planner Board of Standards, Inc. (CFP Board) is to “benefit the public by granting the CFP® certification and upholding it as the recognized standard of excellence for competent and ethical personal financial planning.” The CFPBoard requires candidates to complete a curriculum and pass tests in eight planning areas, have at least 6,000 hours of related experience, and pass a final comprehensive exam. Each candidate must also commit to rigorous professional standards and agree to adhere to the principles of honesty, integrity, competence and diligence when dealing with clients.
Brennan Financial Services strives to hire, encourage and promote individuals who seek credentials that focus on competence, ethics, and holistic planning for a reason. We know that when people can trust their financial professionals that they will feel more confident in their decisions about their money. As a second generation firm, we believe strongly in helping to shape our industry to better serve all clients and investors, and we are proud to have now shepherded three CFP® professionals into the industry.
Joe now serves as the team’s paraplanner, working with me to design financial plans for families and business owners. He will also begin working more closely with our clients from immediate service needs to longer term planning and strategy.
Please feel free to pass on a congrats email to Joe.
