As residents of Texas, we thought summer may never end this year. As the 100+ degree days finally seem to be in our rearview mirror, we’re taking this chance to catch you up on our big accomplishments in case you missed them while you were spending time with loved ones or on a travel adventure over the past few months. Take a quick read through the past few months to get up-to-date with your BFS Advisory Group team.
Jack Barker notched the Certified Investment Management Analyst (CIMA) designation
Jack’s undergraduate background was concentrated in investment management, and he decided that taking that knowledge to another level with the Certified Investment Management Analyst (CIMA) education would be an excellent complement to his CFP skills and experience. Congratulations to Jack on this achievement.
Congratulations also to Erin, who is now a Certified Professional Wealth Advisor (CPWA). Check out the link above to read the blog here about the rigor behind the CPWA designation and how Erin applies it to the unique needs, goals, and analysis that so many of our Private Wealth clients have.
Our president, Debra Brennan Tagg, was included in the Investment News summer reading list. The assignment was to list “one for business, one for fun.” Her two summer reads were Multipliers, which focuses on how leaders can maximize their teams, and The Bean Trees by Barbara Kingsoliver, which – truth be told – she has not totally finished.
We would love to hear from you about what you read this summer! Email us at hello@bfsadvisorygroup.com if you have a good business or personal book that you’d like to share.
D CEO Magazine Highlights Debra’s Ice Climb in “Off Duty”
Do you remember our last newsletter which included Debra’s post about her March ice climbing trek in Colorado? D CEO magazine picked it up and highlighted her adventure in its “Off Duty” section. Check it out here.
We are absolutely blushing to be included again in the Modern Luxury “Best of the City” list this year! Thanks to the ML readers and editorial staff for highlighting our work and recognizing us as the “Looking Best to Invest” resource for Dallas residents.
Risks and Opportunities Market Report
We really appreciate all of the positive comments we have received about our quarterly market report, Risks and Opportunities. It is admittedly on the long side, with the idea that you can read as much or as little as you want – skim the bullet points for brevity, or dive in like a good book and read all of Debra’s analysis on the global economy and financial markets. And don’t forget to pass it on to friends!
Our Fashion + Finance: It’s like chocolate and peanut butter. Trust us on this one.
BFS Advisory Group held our 2nd Annual Fashion + Finance Event, this time in partnership with our favorite Dallas boutique, Tootsie’s. The styling team created a fashion show for our guests, with the theme “A Day in the Life” – of working women, moms, and ladies who need to be many places on most days. We also talked about how to make conversations about money cool, acceptable, and, well – fashionable.
And now you know some of the fun highlights of our summer! Stay tuned for all of the things that fall and year-end mean in a wealth management office (think tax analysis, goal setting, family conversations with clients, small business review, the list goes on!) in addition to some truly exciting news about our new team members.
