As part of our ongoing quest to help people to use their money to have the lives they want, last year we hosted our Money + Mindset event to teach women how to negotiate. The idea was to combat the current 3-4 decade outlook of wage inequality by teaching women to ask for higher salaries and opportunities. The idea that a wealth manager would teach these skills as part of a thoughtful financial planning process is unique and has caught broader attention. I recently presented the concept at a national conference for female financial advisors, and was subsequently interviewed by Financial Planning magazine about why this is a focus of our firm.
